New songs

We’re still here. And we’re working on new songs.

Watch out and stay tuned. Meanwhile – listen to our old songs…

Mother

When Heri from Soundfactory first listended to this song he really didn’t like it because he thought that it sounded too much like the old Pink Turns Blue. We thought that this was really the reason why we’d recorded the song.

One Love

“One Love” was very much inspired by U2′s”Numb”. Christoph recorded it first with an old Roland drum machine and a small Casio keyboard. This version was recorded for our third (unreleased) album.

1994

We started working on the recordings for our third album shortly before our tour with German band Myrna Loy in 1994. Groppe was still singer of the band and the first version of 1994 was recorded with Groppe in Studio 54. He left the band some weeks before the tour started and we had to find a new singer or cancel the tour. Markus Giltjes, who produced Explain! recommended Udo Woitowizc who came from the same town as Markus. We invited Udo to Studio 54 and during the rehearsal we recorded this version of 1994 which we all really loved and the band had a new singer.

Dave – Original Version

“Dave” was something like a hit in the dark and gothic scene back than. This one is the first recording of “Dave” and it’s a little more down to the point as the released version. At the end of the song there’s this woman – I really can’t remember her name.

Let Me Die – Acoustic Version

When we were working in the Studio 54 they had this wonderful old Steinway piano and it was stored in tiled room which was used as a reverb room in the former days. We really loved the slightly out-of-tune sound and the hard reverb of the room. Nice recording – even a little bit strange.

This one goes back to 1990 and is the first Moon recording. The basic tracks were recorded in Christoph’s flat in a squat in Bochum using some old tape recorders. This recording was produced in Studio 54.
