This is the original mix of “Man in the dark” as recorded and mixed at Tjemara Sewoe, Netherlands. The version which was released on the “Explain!” album was re-recorded later in Studio 54.

Listen to the first version of this song as released on “Unexplained!”. This one is the version after Markus Giltjes was finished with the song. Bastard. The song is 20 minutes long because at the end there is an obscure version of “Unheeded” where you can here Sascas father saying (in German) “Jetzt gebe ich Mama”. A great moment.

Our manifesto. Some of the best moments we had were playing this song live. We normally played 15 to 20 minutes versions and at the end there always was a great chaos and sometimes Christoph destroyed his guitar. Great.

Everybody hated the guitar, but Christoph really loved it. The drum samples were stolen from some obscure U2 remixes and nobody knows where U2 have stolen them first.
